Long term happiness can be found in those children’s who have a happy skill set. They can pass up instant gratification to reach their goals. One way you can help your child develop such skills are by adopting healthy, lifelong habits.

Here are a few ways where you can help raise a happy child:

Outdoor play:

Do not restrict your child from playing outside. Running on the mud. Sitting on the swings, and digging the sand is dirty, but that dirt is good for children’s.

Studies have shown that the fragrance associated with nature can boost the mood of your child. So, instead of letting your child do his homework or study inside the room let them go out and sit in the porch and do it so that it will give them an instant boost.

Avoid gadgets:

You may, or your child may be thinking that playing video games on the mobile for hours together will make them happy. But if they spend too much time with the gadgets it will affect the child’s mental health and well-being. A study published that children who spend more time away from these gadgets like playing sports, or music, etc., are likely to be happier than those who are always on the mobile phone.

Teach them to show gratitude: Incorporate gratitude to your child. Now, know that there is a difference between forcing a thank you and meaning it. Studies showed that a child who is always grateful and shows gratitude is likely to be happier and healthier and maintain good relationships with everyone.

Expecting high: It may not be fun to spend hours together studying, children’s who strive hard to complete the tasks are more likely to live happier. Your expectations have a big impact on your children. It will help him challenge himself. Have reasonable expectations, this will help your child to work hard to meet those expectations.

Self-control: Teach your children’s to have self-control. Eating an extra cookie, playing with friends and skipping the household chores may give them temporary happiness and pleasure, but it is for sure that children’s who don’t have self-control will suffer in the long run.

However, children who have self-control do not put themselves into temptations. They essentially make themselves happy.

Giving them work: Assigning your children’s small tasks like cleaning the room or dusting the table may be a key factor for long term happiness. While you give work to your 4-year-old child, it will give them a long term success. Conducting such activities helps the child to feel more connected with their family and this connection will help them in staying mentally strong when they go through hard times.

Exercise as a family: Make it a point to have good physical exercise with your children. This will help children and their parents happier. You will feel connected as a family. All kinds of exercise will help you boost happiness.

Help others: Helping others can boost your happiness to the next level and will help you be more kind towards people. It is a positive cycle that will always keep them happy. Challenge everyone in the family to do one act of kindness and share those while you are dining together.
